Celebrate your mothers
Dear Readers,
Let me begin by thanking all the lovely women who breathed life into each and every one of us by saying Happy Mother’s Day! Sunday, May 11 is your day, the day set aside to celebrate you! I for one think mothers should be celebrated every day.
Don't quit
Dear Readers,
I have hesitated to give my views on the political landscape but I recently read a letter written by Lewis Diuguid, an African-American columnist working for the Kansas City Star. I wanted to share this letter with each of you. I will support whomever wins the Democratic nomination, but this letter is powerful.

Dear Sen. Hillary Clinton:
Cinco de Mayo
Dear Readers,
I hope everyone survived April 15, the day we love to hate! I know I have company when I say it is one of my least favorite days of the year! If you had to pay Uncle Sam, you were among the few who made money last year! Consider yourself one of the lucky ones!
When free speech becomes hate speech
Dear Readers,
Given that we are in an election year, I felt it important to run this open letter sent to Sally Kern by the Victory Fund. To hear her comments visit www.victoryfund.org/listening.
Dear Sally,
I saw the statement you released yesterday (3/10/08) in which you said your “hate speech” is merely “free speech.” That’s kind of gross, but it’s also beside the point.
Changes afoot
Dear Readers,
Let me begin by reminding you that Dining Out For Life has changed their date to April 24. You can read on the front page the reasons behind this change. If you have not made plans, I want to encourage you to join the Vital VOICE @ Bar Italia in the Central West End for some fabulous food!
