Transhaven Missouri Announces its 2010 Initiatives For the Transgender and Inclusive Community
SAINT PETERS, MO – December 30, 2009 -The Board of Directors have unanimously approved the following as the CY 2010 initiatives of TransHaven Missouri:
· Pursuit and support of Public Accommodation with Gender Identity / Expression language Legislation at State and Local levels
· Pursuit and support of Employment Practices with Gender Identity / Expression language Legislation at State and Local levels
· Pursuit and development of Transgender Inclusion at homeless shelters
· Fundraising and Support for Transgender Inclusive Charities
SAGE and One StL Begin Monthly Educational Seminars
ST. LOUIS - Starting February 9th, 2010 SAGE and One St. Louis will be jointly sponsoring monthly educational seminars for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender (LGBT) and allied older adults. The first topic will be Medicare and Medicaid – Navigating the System of Benefits and Services.

DC Mayor Signs Marriage Equality Bill Into Law
WASHINGTON – Today, Joe Solmonese, President of The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) civil rights organization, issued this statement regarding DC Mayor Adrian Fenty’s signing of the Religious Freedom and Civil Marriage Equality Amendment Act of 2009, granting marriage equality to same-sex couples in the nation’s capital.
PROMO Releases Year in Review; Board Chair Issues 10K Fundraising Challenge

LOUIS - PROMO, Missouri's statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) advocacy group recently released it's 2009 year in review highlighting the legislative accomplishments pertaining LGBT and allied Missourians. Also in the letter was a community wide challenge by PROMO Board Chair, Dr. Ken Haller to help raise much needed funds for the legislative fights ahead.

Well over one hundred gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) and allied St. Louisans braved December's chill last evening to march down Manchester road in one voice to decry violence against all.

There are so many things right with Brooklyn Boy that the "wrongs" can either be rationalized or (nearly) forgiven. Donald Margulies has given us a good play, but not a great one, and any negative comments I have are directed toward the playwright’s choices, not the production itself which is close to impeccable.

ST. LOUIS - A flurry of actions is being organized by gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender (GLBT) and allied leaders in reaction to the attack of three men outside of the Complex nightclub Thanksgiving weekend. The Dec. 4 events are designed to showcase community solidarity in the face of what many believe to be a hate crime.
Krampus Fundraiser, Dec. 5
ST. LOUIS - Join Charlie Schoenherr, Mr. Midwest Leather '08/'09 and Mike Lunter, Mr. Missouri Leather '09 , at Bad Dog Bar and Grill on Saturday, December 5, 2009 for a fundraiser benefiting PAWS, a program of Saint Louis Effort for AIDS, and programs of Food Outreach. Starting at 9 p.m. on St. Nicholas Eve., the event is themed around Krampus, the Dark Side of St. Nick. The fundraising event will feature a silent auction, 50/50 raffle, snacks, jello shots, hot men and fun throughout the evening.
PROMO Observes World AIDS Day & Commends Gov. Nixon for Proclamation
ST. LOUIS - PROMO, Missouri's statewide lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender advocacy organization, calls on all its members to join PROMO in the observance of World AIDS Day on December 1, 2009. World AIDS Day is an annual program of the World AIDS Day Campaign of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), designed to unite worldwide and local efforts to stop the spread of HIV and AIDS and draw attention to the ongoing crisis.
