Human Rights Campaign Begins Marriage Equality Petition

The Human Rights Campaign has started the Million for Marriage petition in support of marriage equality in America, according to a recent press release.
The organization’s goal is to collect one million signatures and send the petition to Congress in an attempt to counter the rising anti-gay marriage dissent that has appeared following the legalization of same-sex unions in California.
In addition to the petition, the HRC has also been lobbying for marriage equality on the state and federal levels and has also contributed to several court cases involving civil marriage rights around the country.
