MidMo PrideFest 2008: Change the World, Be Yourself!!!

Columbia, MO, June 1st 2008: MidMO LGBT Coalition’s 5th Annual MidMO PrideFest will be held this year on June 14th at Stephen’s Lake Park from 11am-7pm. This year boasts 2 STAGES with a full line-up of music, performance and dancing. PrideFest is the only event in Mid-Missouri that focuses specifically on the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender community, their families and their friends. In addition to attracting local residents, the festival draws visitors from out of state. In 2006 CBS-Logo included our local pride event in their documentary “Profiles in Pride” which continues to be shown all these months later.

Each year the Coalition has worked to host a bigger and better PrideFest than the year before. We are shooting for the stars this year as we are planning the largest bash yet. For the first time ever, we are actually turning down performers due to time constraints the day of the event.

A portion of the proceeds will also go to benefit The Center Project in their efforts to open a community center downtown to benefit predominantly gay youth of MidMissouri.
