Come paint by the numbers with SCOSAG! The Saint Louis City Open Studio and Gallery (SCOSAG) will kick off the holiday season with another great party: PAINT BY NUMBERS on Friday, October 10, 2008 for an interactive art experience, recreating some of the most famous paintings in history with outlines, numbers with coordinating colors, paint and brushes and you fill in the numbers. just like the activity you did as a child! Guests will pick their masterpiece of choice, area and number and begin to paint, just like the masters. All paintings will be available for purchase through silent auction.

The doors at the always creative Mad Art Gallery (www.madart.com) will open at 7 p.m. and guests will be greeted with child-friendly music provided by SCOSAG's own Celia Shacklett and later for the adults, DJ Innovation will rock the turntables.

PAINT BY NUMBERS will also host an interactive silent art auction of unique and one-of-a-kind "how-to" experiences including knife skills, printmaking, floral design, and finding your inner clown! The paint by numbers finished masterpieces will also be up for silent auction. Children and adults of all ages are encouraged to join in the painting fun. Face painting and Do-It-Yourself T-Shirt design will be drawing the young and old alike.

Adult admission tickets are $10 and children's tickets are $5. A full bar and concessions to be provided by Mad Art Gallery for additional cost. Auction and admission proceeds stay directly in Saint Louis and benefit The Saint Louis City Open Studio and Gallery. It is the Mission of The Saint Louis City Open Studio and Gallery to provide a safe and educational environment for children to explore the Arts and also to strengthen the ties within the St. Louis neighborhood, its families and its youth.
