Belt tightening

Publisher's Voice

Dear Readers,

For those who have not heard about the change in our publishing schedule, I will provide a brief explanation. I am certain that all of us are experiencing some sort of “tightening” of our budgets. St. Louis Network LLC is not exempt from experiencing that same tightening. In order to continue providing a quality product to the community, it was determined that publishing the printed version once a month on every third Friday would be the most efficient solution. In addition, we will be providing news and expanded entertainment coverage on our website www.thevitalvoice.com and we will continue to bring you local information on theater and art via our e-newsletter on the first and third Thursdays of every month. We are committed to being your VOICE throughout these tough economic times.

On another note, how sick are you of hearing the back and forth comments by the candidates? You know, these comments that have nothing and I repeat nothing to do at all with the state of our union. If I hear another reference to lipstick, I cannot be responsible for my actions! Really, when are we going to get back to addressing the issues? I want to yell, hey listen candidates, there are people who don’t know how they are going to put food on the table (that is if they still have a table) or how they are going to pay for healthcare or their children’s education! Who can tell me if these wars will ever end and are we about to start another one? The list of questions is endless and as you will note, does not contain the word lipstick!

It is time we demand answers! The media has to share the blame for this continued hype over nonsense. Have you ever thought, “How can I make this type of coverage end?” Well, I know how you can make it end; don’t listen to it, don’t buy it, don’t talk about it. Let the media know you will only listen up when they are ready to provide you with the meat & potatoes of this election and not the make-up! There are a mere 47 days until the election as of the date of this publication and we need to make certain our voices are heard. Please be prepared to VOTE. We must always exercise this right and this year more than ever.

Til next issue,
Pamela Schneider

I enjoy reading the online edition of the Vital Voice. St Louis should be glad to have Pam and her staff. Other community publications, are not so lucky and have shut down due to lack of support. Community members should let advertisers know that they saw their ad. Help keep the Vital Voice strong, it's YOUR paper.
