Evangelical UCC in Webster Groves is an Open and Affirming church community that welcomes people of all ages, origins, and sexual orientations. We offer this alternative to Vacation Bible School as an opportunity for children to learn about Peace. Elementary age children will experience a ‘peace-filled passover’ exploring the ancient story of Moses leading his people to freedom as we make matzah (flat bread), consider the science of ‘plagues’, and practice our breathing (yoga).

Lewis Black

Start: 08/08/2008 - 8:00pm

End: 08/08/2008 - 10:30pm

Lewis Black is one of the most prolific and popular performers working today. He executes a brilliant trifecta as stand-up comedian, actor and author. Black’s live performances provide a cathartic release of anger and disillusionment for his audience. A passionate performer who is more pissed-off optimist than mean-spirited curmudgeon, he's perfected expressing what the rest of us cannot say in polite company. Black is the rare comic who can cause an audience to laugh themselves into incontinence while making compelling points about the absurdity of our world.

An internationally renowned superstar, the iconic and irrepressible Dolly Parton has contributed countless treasures to the world of music entertainment, penning classic songs such as “Jolene,” “Coat of Many Colors,” and her mega-hit “I Will Always Love You.” With 1977’s crossover hit “Here You Come Again,” she successfully erased the line between country and pop music without noticeably altering either her music or her image. Her incredible career has spanned nearly five decades and is showing no signs of slowing down.
