Soulard Art Market Photography Invitational

May is National Photo Month. In 1987, as recognized by the US Congress, our industry started celebrating May as National Photo Month (NPM). A full 31 days to promote the joy and benefits of photography. The Soulard Art Market is recognizing NPM by exhibiting the photography of 30 local St. Louis area photographers. This invitational only exhibit runs May 15 through June 8, 2008. The opening reception is May 15 and 16th from 7:00 to 10:00pm.

Join us for a month of photography fun as we celebrate the life and work of photographer Gordon Parks. For over sixty years, Parks told stories about cities, fashion, families, musicians, kids, artists, and more through his photographs. After a tour of the exhibition “Bare Witness: Photographs by Gordon Parks” you’ll get to try out one of the fabulous photography projects we’ll have available. On June 29, it’s going to be a festival of photos when we’re joined by some of our area’s talented photo artists for demonstrations and hands-on projects. Sculpture Hall. Free.
